A resident of the Chicago suburb of North Barrington, Paul Liska has spent over 40 years working in executive positions for some of the country’s top companies. Before beginning his career, Paul Liska graduated from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University with a master of arts in management.

While primarily focused on education, the Kellogg School of Management also facilitates research through its centers and departments, one being the Kellogg Accounting Information and Management Department. This department’s primary mission is to research economic forces and institutional features that impact the way groups assess an organization’s performance and the way it makes decisions.

The research focuses on several key areas within the subject. These include how accounting information is used, how firms can be motivated to disclose information, and how accounting information is used in contracting relationships, audit planning, and performance evaluation. The center also trains emerging generations of accounting scholars.

This department is affiliated with the Accounting Research Center, which supports the Kellogg School’s accounting faculty. Through the Kellogg School, the Accounting Research Center also conducts seminars and hosts conferences for both scholars and professionals.
