An accomplished private investor located just outside Chicago, Illinois, Paul Liska has more than a decade of experience in private equity. As an executive, he has spent time in leadership positions with the likes of Kraft Incorporated and Oscar Mayer Foods Corp. Beyond his investment activities, Paul Liska is an avid golfer. His favorite courses range from the nearby Golf Club at Wynstone to Castle Pines Country Club.

Golfers visiting or living in Illinois should consider a trip to Chicago Country Club in Wheaton, Golf Digest’s pick for the top course in the state. Initially designed by C.B. Macdonald in 1894, the club has a reasonable claim as being the first-ever 18-hole golf course built in the United States. In 1923, the course was renovated to its current construction, in which each hole has been designed to emulate a famous hole from other courses.

Ranked №14 in the country, the course at Chicago Golf Club was updated again in 2002 by Tom Doak. The course has been ranked among the top 100 in the country since 1966, reaching as high as №12 in 2010.

Butler National Golf Club and the third course at Medinah Country Club followed as the second and third-ranked courses in Illinois, respectively, while Shoreacres in Lake Bluff overtook Marshall’s Canyata Golf Club as the state’s №4 rated course. Other courses appearing on the list included Olympia Fields Country Club North and Wynstone Golf Club in North Barrington.
